Twitter suspended the account of Bijan Zanganeh, Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran, following the imposition of US sanctions against him.

Iran PressAmerica: In a breach of freedom of expression, Twitter recently blocked the official Twitter page of the Iranian oil minister following the US sanctions imposed earlier this month

Zanganeh had previously said in response to US sanctions against him: "These sanctions are a passive reaction to the failure of Washington's policy to reduce Iran's oil exports to zero."

Zangeneh added that the era of unilateralism in the world is over and Iran's oil industry will not be stopped.

By sanctioning the Iranian Oil Minister the US government acknowledges that it has little choice but to impose new sanctions on Iran and that it is more like a psychological war rather than a practical one.
