Terrorists behind attacks on IRGC soldiers in Nikshahr arrested

Sistan and Baluchestan (IP) - Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on Saturday announced in a statement that it arrested the elements who assassinated three soldiers of its ground force unit in Nikshahr city, southwestern Iran.

Iran Press/Iran News: Two vehicles of the Basij unit (Voluntary forces associated with the IRGC) of Nikshahr city in Sistan and Baluchestan province were patrolling on route to Nikshahr on September 29 when armed terrorists onboard a vehicle attacked them.

In the terrorist attack, three members of the IRGC – Morteza Kebari, Saeed Mehrjan, and Hojjat Harati - were killed, and one was injured. Also, two of the attackers were killed.

Nikshahr in southeastern Iran located near the border with Pakistan.

Terrorists operating in neighboring countries including Pakistan in southwestern Iran have repeatedly targeted Iranian military and security forces serving in border provinces.

In February, two border guards were martyred in clashes with members of a terrorist group in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Tehran has frequently complained to Islamabad about foreign-backed terrorists who use the Pakistani territory to launch attacks in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Jaish al-Zolm, a terrorist group active in Iran-Pakistan border , has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
