Moscow(IP): The Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stressed in a telephone conversation on Tuesday the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

The Kremlin press office said in a statement on Tuesday: "The telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Nicole Pashinyan was initiated by the Armenian side and the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone."

The President of Russia and the Prime Minister of Armenia stressed the need for a ceasefire between the warring parties in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Putin expressed concern over the continuation of hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Putin and Pashinyan also discussed measures to be taken by the warring parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to reduce tensions.

Today, Russian media quoted a spokesman for the Armenian Ministry of Defense as saying that a Sukhoi 25 fighter jet had been shot down.
