Rouhani:

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani stressed promoting the resilience of the economy and implementing the policies of the resistance economy is at the forefront of all government activities and efforts, the positive effects of which can be seen in the face of external shocks.

Referring to the corona pandemic that has affected the Islamic Republic of Iran since the end of the last Iranian year (starting on March 21), Rouhani said: "Before the corona outbreak, the country had faced two other serious external shocks during the current government. One was the fall in oil prices in early 2014, and the other was the severe US sanctions since 2018."

"Although the fall in oil prices, and in particular the unprecedented and oppressive US sanctions, has created problems for the people, the government has run the country well in the face of these problems and by using the experience of successfully dealing with the two shocks also managed the country well in the face of the problems caused by the corona pandemic," the president went on to say.

Rouhani pointed out that while the economies of many major countries in the world shrank by 20%, but the Iranian economy suffered only 3% damage due to the problems caused by the corona outbreak, which shows the government's ability to withstand this problem and manage it.
