Ghana (IP) - Dalhu Empowerment and Humanitarian Services donated blood to commemorate Ashura.

Iran PressAfrica: The Dalhu Empowerment and Humanitarian Services has teamed up with the Tolon District Hospital in Ghana to hold a blood donation drive. The drive aims to boost the blood bank at the Tolon District Hospital and mark Ashura.

The act of donating blood is inspired by the humanitarian deeds of Imam Hussain (A.S.) at Karbala. These deeds are commemorated annually in the month of Muharram, the first month of the Arabic calendar, according to Shaykhu Dalhu Abdul-Mumin.

Imam Hussain (A.S.) is regarded as an honorable figure in the history of humanity. He was born into a pure lineage as the son of Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib and the grandson of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH). His mother, Fatima bint Muhammad, was also the beloved daughter of the prophet. Imam Hussain was the second son of Imam Ali and Lady Fatimah and the second grandson of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The Ashura event evokes strong emotions of sadness, pain, and torture. It's a very touching experience.

The prophet's family endured several days without food or water while exposed to the scorching sun in the desert of Karbala.

In remembrance of the tragedy in Karbala, the Dalhu Empowerment and Humanitarian Services has chosen to honor this year's Ashura by making donations of blood, water, and food to the children's ward of Tolon District Hospital, with the assistance of Shaykhu Dalhu Abdul-Mumin.
