Narayanganj (IP): The Gazi Tire factory in Narayanganj, the only tire manufacturing company in Bangladesh, was destroyed by fire. Relatives have reported 173 people missing since the fire broke out in the factory.

Iran Press/Asia: However, none of the missing are workers of the Gazi tyre factory that was gutted in the fire. 

According to the factory authorities, people gathered and looted the Gazi tire factory by announcing on the microphone of the mosque. The factory was set on fire after a fight between two groups who came to loot. 

The owner of Gazi Tire Factory is Golam Dastgir Gazi, the former textile and jute minister of the recently ousted Awami League government. After he was arrested from the capital, people were gathered by announcing on the microphone from the mosque next to the factory. Looting started in the factory.  

Besides, during the looting, there were clashes between the two groups in the factory like gunfire. After looting throughout the day, a group of looters set fire to a six-story building inside the factory.  

Many people gathered in front of the factory after setting fire to the factory. They complain that since the fire broke out in the factory, their relatives cannot be traced. 204
