Bangladesh (IP) - The flood situation in various districts of Bangladesh including Feni, Noakhali, Comilla, and Brahmanbaria has taken a dire shape.

Iran Press/AsiaThe worst situation is in the Feni district. The flood situation in Pulgazi, Parashuram, Chagalnaya, and Sonagazi is gradually deteriorating. The roads have been submerged and electricity and internet services have been shut down, resulting in a complete shutdown of communication in these areas.

Visiting different areas of Feni city, water is above the knees and sometimes waist-deep. People are moving to other places for safe shelter as their houses are submerged in flood water. Those trapped in the water are being rescued by the army, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Coast Guard, and various volunteer organizations.

People from all walks of life have come forward to help those affected by the worst floods in recent memory. Schools, colleges, madrasas, and hospitals in the flood-affected areas have been temporarily converted into shelters. Flood-affected people have stayed in these shelters.

Mainly those who lost everything in the flood came to the shelter. Besides, due to lack of space and lack of rescue, many could not come to a safe place.

27 people have died so far in 11 districts due to ongoing floods in the country. Besides, 56 lakh 19 thousand 375 people have been affected by flood. 12 lakh 7 thousand 429 families are water-logged.

Among them, 10 died in Comilla, one in Feni, 5 in Chittagong, one in Khagrachari, 5 in Noakhali, one in Brahmanbaria, one in Laxmipur and three in Cox's Bazar.204
