The Iraqi government held the American coalition responsible for the attack on Al-Hashd al-Shaabi headquarters in Baghdad and described this action as terrorist attack.

Iran Press/ West Asia: According to the Iraqi news agency (INA); Brigadier General Yahya Rasool, the spokesman of the General Command of the Iraqi Armed Forces, responded to the drone attack on one of the headquarters of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Organization in Baghdad on Thursday, saying that the Iraqi Armed Forces hold the forces of the international coalition responsible for this unexpected attack on an Iraqi security institution.

He added: "This action weakens all the MOUs between the armed forces and the forces of the international coalition."

The spokesman of the General Command of the Iraqi Armed Forces added: "We consider this action to be an escalation of tension and a dangerous attack on Iraq, which is far from the spirit and context of the order and tasks for which the international coalition is present in Iraq.

Two fighters were killed on Thursday in a strike on a base in eastern Baghdad used by PMF armed groups, a Telegram channel linked to militias said.

Abu Toqa, a deputy commander of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces ( PMF) and senior Commander of Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba officially the 12th Brigade were among those killed.

Six fighters were injured in the attack on the headquarters of the 12th Brigade of the PMF, sources said.

The 12th Brigade is linked to Al Nujaba, one of several groups that have been attacking US troops in Iraq and Syria.

There were at least two explosions in eastern Baghdad.

The PMF has held the US responsible for carrying out the attack killing "senior leaders".
