Iran Press/Iran News: The Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as delivering his speech at the UN general assembly in New York, described Iran together with Russia and Georgia as of Armenia's strategic partners.
The Armenian Prime Minister said that the country will take all the necessary measures to be recognized as a trustworthy partner and a good friend for Iran, Russia, and Georgia.
Earlier, the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called for boosting relations with neighbors including Armenia as a principal policy of Iran.
In a telephone conversation with Nikol Pashinyan, President Rouhani added that the agreements reached between Tehran and Yerevan in various fields during the premier's visit to Tehran serve as a valuable step in line with developing collaboration, noting that accelerating their implementation will give a boost to bilateral ties.
Expressing pleasure over approving the deal for setting up joint free trade zone between Iran and members of Union of Economic Eurasia, Rouhani said that Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has been tasked for its implementation.
Pashinyan, for his part, stressed that his country is set to promote relations with Tehran in all fields, stating that Yerevan will seriously pursue implementation of the agreements.
During the phone conversation, he officially invited President Rouhani to attend Eurasia Summit in Yerevan on October 1, 2019.
In addition, earlier on June 8, Nikol Pashinyan announced that Yerevan is interested in promoting economic cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran within the framework of Eurasian Economic Union.
Besides, on February 27, the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said despite the US wishes, the relationship between the two countries of Iran and Armenia should be friendly, firm and consistent.
