Mazandaran (IP) - Amirabad Port in Northern Iran is considered as the main gate for the International North-South Transport Corridor.

Iran Press/Iran News: Amirabad Port, located in Mazandaran Province, in Northern Iran, is considered the main gate for the International North-South Transport Corridor. Regarding the strategic importance of the Caspian Sea and the presence of varied and extensive markets around, Amirabad Port's significance in transportation and transit of the goods seems clear.

The volume goods exported through Amirabad port since early 2019 has increased significantly and currently 483985 different kinds of commodities are being exported through this port, which shows a 77 percent growth compared to last year.

The number of vessels and ships entering the port in the current year has been reported as 470 cargo ships which show a 30-percent increase compared to last year (2018).
