Ankara(IP)- Iranian foreign minister has traveled to Ankara to visit the earthquake-affected areas of Türkiye to sympathize with the Turkish nation, calling Iran a friend and brother of the country since the very first hour of the tragic earthquake.

Iran PressAsia:  A 7.7-magnitude quake rocked Türkiye and Syria on February 6, killing nearly 52,000 people, in both countries.

"Hossein Amir-Abdollahian," said at Ankara Esenboğa Airport on Tuesday night that his trip is aimed at expressing sympathy and serving as the continuation of helping the people and government of Iran to the people affected by the earthquake in Türkiye.

He stated that the people and government of Iran were friends and brothers of Türkiye since the first hour of the tragic earthquake by dispatching relief teams.

Amir-Abdollahian stated that he has traveled to Türkiye on behalf of the President of Iran to express his condolences and is going to visit the earthquake-hit areas in the south of the country.

He added that during the trip, he would also meet and discuss bilateral, regional, and international relations with his Turkish counterpart foreign minister, and other officials of the country.
