Urmia (IP) - Director General of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of West Azarbaijan province, northwestern Iran, said the province, because of its geographical location and ties with Europe, has a unique status within Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Director General of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of West Azarbaijan province, Jalil Jabari, said: Takht-e-Soleiman in the south of the province and St. Thaddeus Monastery, also known as Kara Kilise (the "Black Church") in the north of the province have been added to UNESCO's World Heritage List.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press correspondent in Urumia, Jalil Jabari stated: "The West Azarbaijan province, in terms of the geographical location in Iran and ties with Europe, has a special place and status."  213/211/103
