Hundreds of Palestinians took to the streets in the occupied West Bank, calling for an end to Gaza's on-going siege and blockade.

The Palestinian people in Ramallah urged Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine and Palestinian National Authority to make decisions to lift the charges imposed by the Palestinian National Authority on Gaza since last year, according to Palestinian media.

The rallies were organized by a large number of journalists, artists, academics, political activists and liberated Palestinian prisoners.

This is while the United Nations General Assembly is to hold an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday to discuss recent developments in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting is being held at the request of a number of  Arab countries.
