MPs agree future parliamentary elections to be contested on a party political basis
Parliamentarians in the Majlis have agreed that registering to contest future elections will only be possible through party political lists.
140 MPs voted in favor of article 4, 84 voted against, and five MPs abstained from the vote. A total of 244 MPs were present in the Majlis at the time of the vote.
Article 4 requires registering to contest future parliamentary elections to be done only through party political lists or lists of political factions. Only approved political parties and factions can field 'lists of candidates'. 211/103
