Iran Press/Iran news: Concurrent with the start of the fifth decade of the Islamic revolution, and thanks to the 24-hour round-the-clock efforts of Iranian scientists and engineers, five industrial research projects on advanced materials and energy were inaugurated on Tuesday by Iran's Defense Minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatami.
Delivering a speech at the inauguration ceremony, Defense Minister, Amir Hatami said: "The defense ministry will fully support applied research by our scientists and engineers, and research carried out by scientists at hi-tech knowledge-based companies and considers it a duty."
Commenting further the defense minister said: "The Organization for Development of Energy Resources, part of the defense ministry, has principal responsibility for providing the energy needs and advanced materials used by Iran's armed forces, and has used state-of-the-art technology to achieve this aim. The organization has also provided valuable products and services to industry."
Elsewhere in his remarks, Brigadier General Amir Hatami praised the researchers and engineers working at the Organization for Development of Energy Resources, saying: "Specialists and scientists working here have used the latest technology to produce new products and optimize processes, and the group has patented many new innovative processes and products, in accordance with international standards. The group has also contributed significantly to the scientific and technological advancement of the country."
Elaborating further the defense minister said: "The group has been particularly successful in the construction of advanced hybrid systems -- systems which produce energy, store energy and provide energy management services in accordance with latest environmental standards -- contributing to Iran's advancement in defense industries."
Brigadier General Hatami added: "Other successes of the group include recycling of lithium batteries, production of a number of rare metals such as antimony, production of LFP, production of helium on an industrial scale, and production of organic fossil fuels." 211/103
