A senior Iranian lawmaker has stressed that the United States will fail in its bid to convince other countries to toe the line with regards to re-imposition of sanctions on Iran.

Iran PressIran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday, senior MP, Mehrdad Lahouti, a member  of the parliament's planning, budget, and estimation commission referred to the recent United Nations general assembly meeting in New York, and emphasized that the United States found itself isolated at the UN, with few countries supporting it.

The member of the parliament's planning, budget, and estimation commission emphasized that many foreign firms, including European companies are very keen to do business with Iran. 

Lahouti added: "It was obvious in the UN general assembly, and also in the UN security council meeting chaired by Trump, that the vast majority of countries did not support the United States and did not agree with Trump. 

The Iranian parliamentarian added: "The days when the United States could build a coalition against Iran are well and truly over. Even the Europeans don't go along with the US anymore!!"
