Iran Press/ Middle East: General Yahya al-Saree announced on Monday that the operation was launched by Qasif 2 drone hitting the Saudi regime's crucial military target.
According to the report, the attack was so intense that all flights from the airport were cancelled.
The Yemeni armed spokesman said the attack was a response to the continuing Saudi regime's brutalities against Yemen, Iran Press reported.
In recent weeks, military centres in southern cities of Saudi Arabia have been targeted by the Yemeni army and popular committee forces' drone attacks, and Saudi Arabia's batteries of US Patriot missiles have failed to intercept them.
Abha and Jizan airports, where the Saudi regime's fighter jets refuel to bomb Yemen, have been repeatedly raided by the Yemeni forces.
Backed by US, the Saudi regime and some of its Arab allies invaded Yemen in 2015 and have enforced a strict blockade of Yemen by ground, air, and sea ever since.
The Saudi war has impacted over seven million children in Yemen who now face a serious threat of famine, according to UNICEF figures. Over 6,000 children have either been killed or sustained serious injuries since 2015, UN children’s agency said. The humanitarian situation in the country has also been exacerbated by outbreaks of cholera, polio, and measles. 207/211/215
