Iran's minister of education has emphasized that the top priority for the government is to improve the quality of education for school pupils and to strengthen and modernize state schools.

Iran Press/Iran news: In an interview with Iran Press, the Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Mirzaie emphasized that the government is trying to improve state schools and raise education standards.

He pointedly commented: "As I have said before our priority is to strengthen and improve state schools in this country. Fortunately."

"In the years following the victory of the Islamic Revolution we made great strides in making education universal, virtually all Iranian youngsters attend schools, and we have had great success in this regard," he added. 

"Today, our priority has shifted to improving the quality of education for school pupils, and to raise education standards in both state schools and private schools. This is our priority today," Education Minister noted. 101/211
