Michael Avenatti -- the attorney for film actor, Stormy Daniels, who says she had an affair with Donald Trump and was paid by Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, to keep it quiet -- has predicted that Donald Trump will be forced to resign.
Avenatti said: "Ultimately, he is going to be forced to resign. I don’t know how he will ultimately spin his departure, but I firmly believe there is going to be too much evidence of wrongdoing by him and those around him for him to be able to survive the balance of his term."
Avenatti also said Trump will not be impeached but will find himself unable to stay in his job before his term ends in January 2021.
Trump's lawyer, Michael Cohen is under federal investigation. In a series of lawsuits, Daniels is suing Cohen and Trump for defamation, and to extricate herself from a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) under which she was paid $130,000 by Cohen shortly before the 2016 presidential election.
In further comments, Avenatti said: "We have only scratched the surface in this case. There is going to be a significant amount of evidence that’s going to come to light, and when that evidence is presented, and when the American people learn of it, they are going to be disgusted by the conduct of Mr Trump and Mr Cohen, and that serious consequences will result."
