IP - Mahdi al-Mashat, the Chairman of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, said early Thursday, Oct. 24, that the Security Council had exacerbated the crisis by taking biased positions.

Iran Press/West Asia: According to Al Mayadeen television channel, al-Mashat made these remarks in a letter to António Guterres, the United Nations secretary-general.

He strongly criticized the international community's inaction on the unfolding events in the region.

Al-Mashat concluded by calling on the United Nations to take a firm stance against Israel's attacks on the Palestinian and Lebanese people and to designate Israel as a terrorist regime.

Over the past year, since Israel's offensive on Gaza, the Yemeni army has targeted several Israeli ships or ships headed for occupied territories in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in support of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

Yemeni forces have vowed to continue targeting Israeli ships or vessels bound for occupied territories in the Red Sea until Israel halts its offensive on Gaza.
