Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, highlighted the need of the country to manufacture vehicles with low fuel consumption, as well as electric vehicles.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Before the petrol price increase, auto manufacturers were seriously looking at electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and cars which consume low amounts of petrol; but now with the rise in gasoline prices, there is even a more urgent need for such vehicles," he underlined in an exclusive interview with Iran Press.

Asked whether car makers had increased the price of their products after the recent hike in petrol prices, Reza Rahmani denied all such rumors saying car manufacturers had kept their prices fixed, and there were no price increases.

"Our effort is that no excessive increase and abuse of the condition take place," he stressed. 101/211
