Russia's Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that Sergei Lavrov and Ara Ayvazian discussed how to implement the Nagorno-Karabakh peace agreement.
The two sides also discussed the prospects of Russia-Armenia strategic partnership and the agenda of bilateral meetings.
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazian was appointed Foreign Minister on Wednesday.
He replaces Zahrab Manatsakanian, who resigned last Monday after nearly two years of being in office.
On Tuesday10 November, Armenia, Azerbaijan in presence of Russia have signed an agreement to end the military conflict over the disputed enclave of the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
