Iran Press/Europe: Russia is ready to help establish peace between Lebanon and Israel and is currently working on this, including in bilateral contacts, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told Sputnik.
The Ynet news portal reported earlier this week, citing high-ranking Israeli officials, that Israel is actively negotiating a settlement with Lebanon, with the participation of the US, and is interested in Russia playing a special role in ensuring compliance with the future agreement.
"As for Lebanon, we are in contact with all of them. I have not heard such proposals. As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, we are working on Resolution 1701, and actively participate in all discussions taking place in New York and other venues, and in the course of bilateral contacts. We are ready, of course, to contribute to the establishment of peace and stability," Bogdanov said when asked if Russia received proposals to become a guarantor of a possible agreement between Lebanon and Israel. 204
