Iran Press/ Iran news: The 215th meeting of the Government Economic Coordination Headquarters was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. In this meeting, the Governor of the Central Bank, as the Chairman of the Group of 24, presented a report on the meeting of this group, which was held on Monday in the presence of the Ministers of Economy and Finance and the Governors of Central Banks of 24 countries and the heads of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
A report by the Group of 24 indicates the severe economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic on low-income groups and the creation of poverty and unemployment, as well as the serious problems of member states in providing vaccines. According to the Governor of the Central Bank, compared to the negative growth of production in most countries, the performance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the last Iranian year (starting on March 21, 2020) in managing the effects of the coronavirus and positive growth rate of production, despite double sanctions pressure, has been evaluated as excellent.
Noting that the government has prepared a package of livelihoods for vulnerable groups on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, the president added: "This aid will continue so that the government can help the people against economic shocks and reassure the dear people, that the government has never forgotten them and will not.
