Iran Press/Asia: 160 members of the National Assembly of Pakistan, in a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, strongly condemned the US Congress' request for Imran Khan's release.
The crimes and accusations of Imran Khan, who has been in prison for more than 14 months, are mentioned in this letter, and the representatives emphasized the need to respect the judicial system and the rule of law in Pakistan.
This is while earlier the members of the British Parliament as well as a UN human rights working group announced that the arrest of Imran Khan violated international laws, and this approach was also severely criticized by the Pakistani government.
Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, whose Tehreek-e-Insaf government was ousted in 2022 by a vote of no confidence in the country's parliament, has previously claimed that America was involved in overthrowing his government. 204
