Tokyo (IP) - Even though Japan has reopened its borders following the pandemic, its economy and tourism industry are still being impacted by the ongoing effects of the coronavirus.

Iran PressAsia: According to an Iran Press reporter from Tokyo, the Japanese government imposed the most severe border restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic, but now the recovery process has begun after three years.

The National Tourism Organization of Japan announced that more than 2 million foreign tourists visited Japan in June, which is the highest monthly figure after the Coronavirus outbreak, but a Japanese salesperson told Iran Press, "I cannot say that the situation has improved."

Hisashi Nakamura stated: "Business is better now than during the pandemic, but still, I can't say that the situation is better than pre-Covid era."

According to Haruka Takahashi, a seller from Japan, there haven't been many Chinese customers, but there has been a good amount of customers from the United States, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Overall, everything has been going well.

Aki Onoda, another Japanese citizen, also told Iranpress: In the past three years, tourism in Japan was not good, but now I am very happy that the situation has changed.

Yusaku Hamada, a young individual interviewed by Iran Press, expressed that if more foreigners visit Japan, they would likely purchase Japanese products, which would positively impact the country's economy.
