Iran Press/ Iran news: In response to the political action of the Nobel Peace Committee in awarding a prize to a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Nasser Kanani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the founders of the United Nations, has always emphasized the objective realization of peace at the regional and global levels and has always paid attention to strengthening the culture of peace; however it never wants peace and its realization to be abused."
Kanani added: "Now we see that the Nobel Peace Committee has decided to award the Peace Prize to a person who has been convicted for repeatedly violating laws and committing criminal acts. We consider this action to be a biased and politically motivated act and condemn it."
Iranian senior diplomat added: "The action of the Nobel Peace Committee is politically motivated in line with the interventionist and anti-Iranian policy of some European governments, including the government hosting the headquarters of the Nobel Committee, which shows disappointing deviation from its initial goals and uses the Peace Committee as a tool."
Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman stated: "In the statement of this committee, false and contradictory claims have been made about the developments in Iran, which is indicative of the approach of some European governments to falsify news, producing deviant narratives about Iran's internal developments."
Kanani pointed out: "The Iranian nation has faced political and economic pressures, including the inhumane economic terrorism imposed by some Western countries against them for more than four decades, while human rights claimants never dare to condemn these crimes or pay tribute to Iranian nation's resistance."
Iranian spokesman of the Foreign Ministry noted that the recent action of the Nobel Peace Committee is another link in the chain of pressure from Western circles against Iran which has no result other than the determination of the Iranian nation to pursue its independent policy.
In the end, Kanani emphasized the ideal of the Islamic Republic of Iran would be establishing peace and justice around the world in the light of effective and friendly cooperation among nations. He, also, recommended to the Nobel Peace Committee that instead of playing a role as a tool in the implementation of fraudulent policies of some Western countries, try to award the Nobel Peace Prize to individuals or organizations that sincerely seek to promote the culture of peace and justice in the world and among nations. 219
