Iranian Foreign Minister and his Cuban counterpart held talks on bilateral regional and international issues on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

Iran PressAmerica: Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Cuban counterpart Berno Rodríguez Parrilla held talks on bilateral, regional, and international issues on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

"Iran's late President Ebrahim Raisi had invited his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro to visit Iran. Araghchi emphasized that Iran is prepared to collaborate with Cuba to enhance bilateral relations in all areas."

Meanwhile, the Iranian foreign minister slammed the US Congress for its unilateral and politically-charged move to include Cuba on the list of state sponsors of terrorism, saying it is in line with the hostile US policies.

The Iranian foreign minister also said, “As one of the victims of the US sanctions, we fully understand the Cuban people’s situation and we support the country against the US embargoes.”

Araghchi also touched on the latest developments in West Asia, stating that the Israeli regime’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government commits crimes in Gaza and Lebanon out of desperation and due to its failure in Gaza.

The Cuban foreign minister expressed his support for the increased bilateral ties between Tehran and Havana in economic, academic, and scientific fields.

Parrilla also said his country supports the Islamic Republic of Iran against the hostile US policies.

The Cuban diplomat expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming joint economic commission meeting and emphasized the need for continued economic cooperation between the two countries.
