Iran press/Iran news: Commenting on dispatch of US Navy warships to the region, and threats by US officials against Iran, Kazem Jalali said: "The Americans have never wanted to preserve the security of the Persian Gulf. On the contrary, they have always wanted to make this region unsafe."
In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday, Jalali added: "Ensuring security in the Persian Gulf is the responsibility of regional countries. Regional countries must secure this region. They must be alert and vigilant, and not be fooled or tricked by US officials.
Elaborating further he said: "Unfortunately, some regional countries are not participating in collective efforts to ensure Persian Gulf's security, rather, they have invited the Americans into this region. They should know that the presence of US military forces will not improve security, quite the opposite in fact, the region will become unsafe with US military presence. The correct way to guarantee the security of the Persian Gulf is for all regional countries to collectively cooperate and contribute to the security of this region."
Turning to the issue of Palestine, the Head of the research centre of the Iranian parliament in a press conference emphasized that the turnout at International Quds Day rallies and marches in support of the Palestinian cause, on the last Friday of the blessed month of Ramadhan, will be substantially more than previous years, because many people are aware of the overt and covert relationship between the Israeli regime and some backward Arab regimes and dictators of this region. The Israelis have managed to relegate the issue of Palestine in some Arab regimes, although this issue is a central concern of all Muslims, and remains a top priority for the Islamic Ummah.
Kazem Jalali added: "For the Islamic Republic, the issue of occupied Palestine always has top priority, and Iran will always assist the Palestinians in their struggle and keep alive the Palestinian cause. Sadly some regional countries have secret relations with the Zionist regime, and lately, their connection with Israel has become out in the open, and they no longer try to conceal it."
Turning to Lebanon and the recent speech by Hezbollah Chief, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, Kazem Jalali fully approved of Nasrallah's speech on Saturday, saying the Hezbollah Leader was quite right when he said Donald Trump would have given away Lebanese lands to the Zionist regime, in much the same way that he gifted the Golan Heights to the Israelis, had the Israelis not been forcibly expelled and driven out of southern Lebanon by the heroic Hezbollah movement and the Islamic Resistance Forces.
