Iran Press/Iran News: On the sideline of a ceremony marking world telecommunication and information society day, Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi, the Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in an interview with Iran Press regarding how communications can expand economic, cultural and political ties between nations said: "What you see today are the achievements of Iranian scientists, improving and advancing communication infrastructures which is what the world needs today."

He added: "Communication is meant to bring nations closer together, to bring about dialogue between nations and ultimately It's all about peace. This is a very important point to bear in mind." He continued: "It is a pity that those who claim to champion democracy and peace are actually restricting communications, to the detriment of peace."
