Iran Press/West Asia: Hassan Abdul Ghani, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) Commander in Deir ez-Zor announced last night that their forces have fully taken control of the Deir ez-Zor after intense fighting with US-backed Syrian Democratic Front (SDF).
Deir ez-Zor is the largest city in eastern Syria and the seventh largest in the country located on the banks of the Euphrates River.
SDF captured Deir ez-Zor after HTS gained control of Damascus and the fall of the Syrian government and Army for only a few days.
The SDF earlier said that it had recaptured Deir ez-Zor and the area west of the Euphrates River on Friday when the Syrian Army left its bases.
