Tehran (IP) - In a statement on the occasion of the Islamic Republic Day, Iran's Army said the day was a turning point in the country's history.

Iran Press/Iran News: The statement issued on Thursday said the maximum participation of the people and the decisive vote for the Islamic Republic showed the will of the Iranian nation to fight arrogant powers, and seek freedom and independence.

"The glorious Islamic Revolution was established by the revolutionary and conscious movement of the people on April 3, 1978, and took the path of promotion and honor, which left behind great events such as the eight-year imposed war, oppressive sanctions, and all kinds of political and cultural conspiracies, as well as military threats, and conquered the peaks of glory," the army statement added.

Elsewhere in the statement, the army pointed to the motto of the new Persian year 'production, support and elimination of obstacles' and stressed that it would do best of its ability to continue the endeavor to gain military and defense achievements and promote Iran's security.
