Tehran (IP) - Secretary-General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO said that unity was the‌ message of artists around the world, and if we wanted to be united, pluralism must be eliminated.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking at the closing ceremony of the First International Silk Road Calligraphy Exhibition, Hojatollah Ayoubi said that the message of this big event is highlighting the role of art, especially calligraphy in particular.

Ayoubi stressed that worldwide artists from various countries worldwide like China, Japan, India, Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan without knowing each other and with different languages all indicated unity and integration. 

The Secretary-General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO added that UNESCO had combatted the coronavirus pandemic.

Ayoubi noted how the coronavirus had forced people to think differently and apply new ways to convey art and culture. The exhibition aimed to show the prominent figures' quotes, friendship messages, the world's calligraphers' interactions, and the elimination of war and the world.

The closing ceremony of the First International Silk Road Calligraphy Exhibition has held at Iran Mall on 28th Jan 2021 with the Secretary-General's participation for United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Ambassadors of the Silk Road countries.

The International Exhibition of Silk Road Calligraphy was opened on Wednesday by the UNESCO Cultural Center and the Municipality of Mashhad at the Khorasan Museum and ended on 28th Jan 2021 at Iran Mall.

More than 230 works from about 30 countries, including Iran, China, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iraq, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Kuwait, Russia, Turkey, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Poland, exhibited at the event.
