Why it matters:
The three Iranian islands claimed by the UAE are considered part of Iran's territorial integrity. To date, the statements of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, published annually in the form of a protocol, have not been able to undermine Iran's resolve to defend its territorial integrity.
What he's saying:
Speaking during a parliamentary session on Wednesday, Qalibaf declared that Iran’s territorial integrity has been sealed with the blood of hundreds of thousands of its youth and that the Iranian nation will not tolerate any illusions or interference regarding its sovereignty.
He emphasized that Iran considers these islands an inseparable part of its territory and views any external claims as baseless and provocative.
The speaker also marked the second anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, led by Hamas, describing it as a strategic blow to Israel and the global hegemonic order.
The operation plunged Israel into an existential crisis and disrupted Western plans for the region, he added.
He further stated that the resistance front, spanning Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran, has turned Israel into one of the most reviled regimes globally.
Qalibaf praised Hamas, Hezbollah, and Yemeni resistance forces for undermining Israeli security and highlighted the expansion of global boycott campaigns against Israel, citing the “Sumud Fleet” as a symbol of worldwide solidarity.
