Why it matters:
The Argentinian boat protest amplifies global civil resistance against the blockade of Gaza, aligning with the Global Sumud Flotilla’s mission to deliver aid and challenge Israeli restrictions.
The big picture:
The Global Sumud Flotilla, joined by activists from 44 countries, represents a bold civilian effort to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza amid escalating violence and displacement. As governments remain largely inactive, these flotillas spotlight the urgency of humanitarian intervention and the power of transnational solidarity to confront systemic injustice and demand accountability on the world stage.
What's happening:
Protesters set off from the Luján River and continued through the Tigre River, in the town of Tigre, some 30 km north of Buenos Aires, with Palestinian flags and signs condemning the “genocide” of the Palestinians in Gaza.
The caravan was also joined by a march in the streets of Tigre.
