Hamas Spokesman Hazim Qasim described the visit of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh to Lebanon as successful and useful, aiming at countering the Zionist plans.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Hazim Qasim, the trip included a meeting with all Lebanese groups who welcomed Haniyeh.

Referring to Haniyeh's meeting with Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, he said that the meeting showed the common ties between the Lebanese resistance and the Palestinians, the most important of which is the confrontation with the Israeli enemy.

The Hamas official noted, "Meeting with Nasrallah is successful and continues the path of the Hamas movement to strengthen relations with resistance groups in the region in order to counter the Zionist plan and defeat it."

Qasim continued that Hamas appreciates the leaders of this movement for the glorious welcome of the Palestinian refugees present in the Lebanese camp.

He considers the issue of refugees to be a major issue and puts it at the top of its priorities, he added.

The head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Ismail Haniyeh met with Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Sunday.

During the meeting, the general political and military developments in Palestine and Lebanon as well as the dangers threatening Palestine, especially the US-Israeli-cooked 'Deal of the Century', the plan to normalize the Arab rulers' relations with the Israeli regime and the nation's responsibility towards it were discussed.
