A trilateral meeting between senior officials of Iran, Russia and Turkey, was held in Ankara Turkey on Sunday night.

Iran Press/Iran news: The meeting was attended by a special aide to Iranian foreign minister, Ali Asghar Khaji, the Russian president's special representative for Syrian affairs, Alexander Lavrentiev, and Turkey's deputy foreign minister, Sedat Onal.

The three senior officials discussed a draft final statement or communique to be announced at the end of a trilateral meeting between the Heads of State of Iran, Turkey and Russia -- a meeting which will be held on Monday in Ankara ,Turkey.

Iran, Turkey and Russia are the guarantors of peace in Syria in the "Astana peace process" which has been on-going since January 2017.
