Zarif to depart for Lebanon on Sunday
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will leave Tehran for Beirut on Sunday.
Meeting with high-ranking Lebanese officials, is on Zarif's agenda, according to Ghasemi, Iran Press reported.
Lebanese Newspaper, Daily Star, reported that Iran's foreign minister will meet with Foreign Minister Gibran Basil and Lebanese President Michel Aoun.
Recently, Lebanon President, Michel Aoun agreed Hariri's new government, ending nearly 8 months of political wrangling.
The announcement of the new government ends months of uncertainty following parliamentary elections last May.
Lebanon has long had a power-sharing political system between the different religious denominations.
The number of seats in parliament is split between Christians and Muslims, and the president, prime minister, and speaker of the parliament must each come from a specific religious background. 101/202
