The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has stressed that correct and appropriate use of the country's national resources will resolve many economic difficulties.

Iran Press/Iran News: The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei met with Iran's para-athletes and medalists who represented the country in the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

According to Iran Press, at this meeting the leader praised the para-athletes, saying: "All of us, in particular young people, can learn a lesson form the sporting triumphs of physically-handicapped people; we must learn how to use our hidden potential, our hidden capacities and abilities, to move forward and find prosperity, both in this world and in the hereafter."

The Leader cited one para-athlete in particular who had won six medals in swimming, saying he should inspire all of us to make use of our hidden capacities and talents. 

In further comments the Leader talked of 'a war of resolves' or 'a war of wills' in today's world, and pointedly told the para-athletes gathered: "You proved in the Asian Para Games that you have a very strong resolve, and that you have authority and cultural independence."

Mehdi Alizadeh, a physically-handicapped para-athlete and former prisoner of war who fought in the eight-year-imposed war, who won a gold medal in the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta, and female para-athletes Sara Javanmardi, Elnaz Darabyan, and Eshrat Kurdistani, all of whom won medals in Jakarta, made speeches in today's meeting.

The Islamic Republic of Iran won 51 gold medals, 42 silver medals, and 43 bronze medals in the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. Iran was ranked third overall, in terms of medals won, improving its ranking by one position compared to the previous Asian Para Games. 101/211
