Muslims in Washington have condemned the Wahhabi regime in Saudi Arabia, calling for the restoration and rebuilding of Islamic sanctities destroyed by the Al-Saud in the 1920s , particularly the Baqie cemetery , in the city of Medina, where members of the Household of Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny) rest in eternal peace.

The large gathering of Muslims in Washington, on the occasion of 8th Shawwal on the Islamic lunar calendar , took place on Friday (22 June).

The crowd chanted slogans against the Al-Saud regime, and loudly condemned Saudi Arabia's support for terrorists,  and spread of hatred and extremism around the world.  Many of the demonstrators emphasized that ruling elite in Saudi  Arabia, that is the Al-Saud royal family, do not represent Muslims or Islam.

The protesters strongly condemned the deliberate destruction of historic Islamic sites within Saudi Arabia. Some of the protesters shouted:  "Saudi is a terror state;   built on lies, blood and hate".

It is worth noting that every year, on 8th Shawwal , Muslims remember the crimes and atrocities committed by the Al-Saud regime in Saudi Arabia,  particularly the destruction of the historic Baqie cemetery in the city of Medina.
