The Iranian foreign ministry has welcomed the conditional release of an Iranian academic, Mahdieh Esfandiari, from a French prison. Foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghai made the announcement on Wednesday, reiterating that Tehran would continue to pursue the case of Esfandiari, a 39-year-old Iranian translator and university lecturer, who lives in Lyon, until her complete freedom and return home.
