He was warmly received by Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan.
During the first round of negotiations between the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan early Tuesday morning, Araghchi outlined the regional situation following the military aggression by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran. He strongly condemned the attack as unjustified and illegal.
Araghchi described the US strike on Iran as a sign of the Zionist regime’s weakness and desperation in the face of Iran’s resilience.
Emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not seek to escalate tensions in the region, the Foreign Minister stated that Iran’s missile attack on the Al Udeid Air Base was a response to the blatant violation of Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty by the US. He warned that Iran stands ready to respond again if the US takes any further action.
For his part, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov stated, “We are Iran’s close neighbor, and from the first day of the Zionist regime’s attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, we expressed our opposition to it. As a neutral country, Turkmenistan does not consider the use of force or threats as acceptable means to resolve issues.”
This development comes as global attention remains focused on the region, with Iranian armed forces having launched a missile barrage at American military bases in Qatar in a retaliatory operation a day after Iranian nuclear sites were targeted by US bombers.
