Iran Press/Europe: Refereeing to the emergency session on Iran's nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Araghchi told the IRIB correspondent: "During the past month, various changes have happened regarding JCPOA, which made it essential to hold another emergency session on Iran's nuclear deal. In this period, Iran reduced commitments and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) published its report", Iran Press reported.
Earlier, on July 27, Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council, Admiral Ali Shamkhani, in meeting with Omani Foreign Minister said that unlike Britain's act of piracy on an Iranian oil tanker in the Strait of Gibraltar, Iran's action in seizing a UK oil tanker was legal and had been done within the framework of maritime international regulations.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran also met the Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), Helga Schmid and representatives from China and Russia in separate meetings before today's emergency session. No information has not been released about the the topics of negotiation yet.
Araghchi left Tehran for Vienna early Sunday to participate in the emergency session on Iran's nuclear deal.
On May 8, 2019, after declaring the ineffectiveness of the proposed European solutions to offset the economic consequences of withdrawal from the United States, Iran declares that it will suspend part of its obligations under paragraphs 26 and 36 of this agreement.
The commission is held one month after the previous round of the negotiations. One year after the US left the JCPOA in May 2018 and imposed more economic sanctions on Iran, the country issued a stern warning to the European signatories of the JCPOA giving them a 60-day period to fulfil their obligations, promises and commitments under the JCPOA, and warning them that Iran's patience has reached its limit, and Tehran now expects to see the European signatories to the agreement implement their obligations.
Later on July 7, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran is going to take the second step towards the reduction of its commitments within JCPOA, with uranium enrichment exceeding the %3.67 percent limit. Iran also warned Europeans that, if they do not fulfill their obligations, Tehran will take the third step more firmly.203/218
