According to an Iran press report, Sadeghzadeh , head of Iran's renewable and sustainable energy organisation, speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday, stressed that so far about 10 trillion toumans have been invested in the renewable and sustainable energy sector, 5 trillion toumans of which have been invested by the private sector, and 5 trillion toumans by foreign investors.
Sadeghzadeh said about 1.2 percent of mains electricity used in the peak summer season comes from renewable energy power stations , which is not a great deal percentage-wise, but this figure is set to increase from year to year. He added: "Many of the technical and engineering equipment used in the renewable energy industry is domestically manufactured by Iranian companies."
