Every year on 9 May, Ukrainians celebrate the victory of the former Soviet Union against Nazi Germany in the second World War.

In the Ukrainian calendar, 9th May is "victory day" for the Ukrainian people, who  celebrate this day,  marking the victory of the former Soviet Union against Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War.

The  ceremony is particularly important and poignant for the dwindling number of  veterans of the second World War,  who sacrificed everything for defence of their country.

.We interviewed two of the people who attended the ceremony , who made the following comments.

History Knowledge of history will help us shape the future. If we forget  events of the past, we will not learn lessons, and we repeat past mistakes in the future .

We will always respect those who  sacrificed everything for their country,  and fought for independence of this nation.
