Iran Press/Asia: Rajab Tayyip Erdogan made the comments in Istanbul, saying the delivery of S-400 missile systems to Turkey will begin in July 2019.
He added that after the delivery of the S-400 systems, negotiations and cooperation between the two countries on joint production of S-500 defense systems will begin.
The Turkish president also expressed confidence that Washington will remain committed to delivering its F35 fighter jets to Ankara.
The United States has repeatedly threatened Turkey by saying if it does not cancel the purchase of S-400 system from Russia, Ankara will face US sanctions and the F35 fighter jets will not be delivered to Turkey.
The contract for the sale of the Russian S-400 missile system to Turkey was signed in December 2017 by the parties. 213/211
