Hundreds of students took part in a protest against gun violence in the United States.

A number of students took to the streets outside the White House  to protest the rampant gun violence and the recent school shootings in the United States.  Many of the students carried signs reading “Am I Next” and “Enough Is Enough” .

The demonstrators, which mainly comprised students from Montgomery and DC area as well as activists, reiterated their demand to lawmakers to make gun laws stricter.

They expressed their anger over the  killing of young innocent students by gun violence across the US.

They also chanted " No more silence, End gun violence". Organizers said they hoped their protest would be one of the biggest in the capital.

The recent massacre in Santa Fe, Texas which left 10 people dead including international Exchange students , has again stirred up people’s anger against lenient gun laws of the US. Protesting students demanded from the government to formulate strict laws for gun control in the country to curb resurgence of such violent incidents.

"We are here today because we are all students here we are seeing these gun violence and shootings at schools while the people  of the congress do not do anything about it "said one  of the participants of the  event. He went on to call for the US President and US congress to pass laws so that people  who should not have access to guns would be controlled and these tragic scene  of killing and shooting innocent  kids at  school  and the people  in  public places would be ended.

The two-hour long demonstration comprised students from Montgomery and DC area as well as activists; The protest also attracted scores of exchange students from different countries.

The mass shooting incidents have increased at an alarming rate as 101 mass shootings incidents have been reported in the US so far in 2018 , including 22 school shootings.
