  • Denmark arrests suspects over Ahvaz terrorist attack

Danish police have arrested three person on suspicion of having praised those behind a Sept. 22 terrorist attack in Iran that killed at least 25 people.

Iran Press/ Europe: Denmark police spokesman Bjoerke Kierkegaard said all three are members of the Al-Ahwazi movement that are responsible for the deadly attack in the Iranian city of Ahvaz, Khuzestan province.

According to AP, Kierkegaard added the men were held on preliminary charges — a step short of formal charges and could face fines or up to two years in prison

25 deaths in a terrorist attack on a military parade in Ahvaz, have been officially confirmed by Khuzestan province deputy governor.

During the military parade in Ahvaz, which was staged concurrently with nationwide military parades to mark the Sacred Defense Week, Takfiri militants wearing disguise opened fire at the people participating in the ceremony.

The attack comes after a US-backed campaign to stir up unrest in Iranian cities fell flat. The effort, known as the Hot Summer Project, sought to whip up public anger over water and electricity shortages in the face of a protracted drought.  101/202
