Iran Press/Iran news: The world's longest flood barrier made out of sandbags has been built with the citizens of South Western city of Hamidiyeh in Khuzestan province.
The flood barrier is 5 kilometers long, Iran Press reported.
The city of Hamidiyeh is among the flood-hit areas in Khuzestan province where the heavy flood water has made the residents built the sandbag flood control barrier so that the water could not enter the residential areas.
It has also been suggested that the measure can be registered in Guinness World Records list as the world longest sandbag control barrier.
Heavy rainfall across Iran since 19 March has caused flooding in some 1,900 cities, towns, and villages, killing at least 76 people.
The floods have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of damage to Iranian agriculture, leaving aid agencies struggling to cope.104/203
