Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani congratulated his counterparts in the Islamic countries on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan and wished dignity for Muslim nations and the Islamic World.

In congratulatory messages to his counterparts on Wednesday, Larijani said that Iran's parliament welcomes dialogue and constructive engagement with the Islamic countries' parliaments and closer cooperation with them.

The Iranian parliament speaker called for boosting unity among Muslim states given their common threats.

The month of Ramadan is a good time to settle down disputes among Muslim countries, he added.

Larijani noted that Muslim countries' unity and solidarity can boost security and stability in the Islamic World.

The advent of Ramadan may vary from country to country depending on the situation of the moon. Since the new moon is not in the same state at the same time globally, the beginning and ending dates of Ramadan depend on what lunar sightings receive in each location.

As a result, Ramadan dates vary in different countries, but usually only by a day.
